A List of Our Favorite Voice AI Podcasts

What better format to talk about voice AI than in a podcast? The burgeoning voice industry has brought with it a diverse group of engineers, influencers, entrepreneurs and other experts who are creating a wide range of voice-AI themed content. As the conversation builds, so do the opportunities to listen, learn and experience the impact of voice in the world around us.

In celebration of International Podcast Day, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite voice-focused podcasts along with 1-2 specific episode recommendations for each. In no particular order, here are our recommendations:

  1. The Voicebot Podcast
    Host: Bret Kinsella

Who they are: The Voicebot Podcast is about the intersection of voice and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. It is a weekly look at trends, founders and newsmakers and supplements the daily research, analysis and news found at https://voicebot.ai.

If you want to be part of the voice-first revolution, you’ll want to follow Bret. His podcast is a list of who’s who in the voice community. His interviews are informative and reflect Bret’s expertise in all aspects of voice AI. Topics on the podcast include: discussions about the people who make up the voice community, current voice trends, the arrival of new companies and players in various segments of voice, new products and product directions, and the future of voice AI.

  1. The AI Podcast
    Host: Noah Kravitz via NVIDIA

Who they are: AI has been described as “Thor’s Hammer“ and “the new electricity.” But it’s also a bit of a mystery even to those who know it best. This series features some of the world’s leading AI experts to explain how it all works, how it’s evolving, and how it intersects with every facet of human endeavors. This podcast is produced by NVIDIA, the AI computing company.

Multiple episodes are released every month. The shorter 30-minute format makes the episodes highly focused and topic-specific. Noah Kravitz’s background as a journalist and tech expert adds depth and insight to interviews with the people who are creating AI solutions for a variety of purposes and industries. Discussions include the reasons behind the drive to innovate, and the impact those innovations have had on companies and the industry at large.

  1. This Week in Voice
    Host: Bradley Metrock

Who they are: This Week in Voice is VoiceFirst.FM’s weekly news podcast, bringing you the most interesting, relevant stories in the rapidly-growing world of voice technology. Voice is evolving quickly. Learn how to navigate it with timely stories and expert insights.

Now in its fourth season, This Week in Voice is a panel format with two or three expert guests each week, with the occasional single guest episode. The show begins with a short introduction of the guests and their backgrounds and then covers a variety of topics in each episode. This series is based on a news talk format discussing the latest announcements, events, and trends in the voice AI industry.

Bradley also hosts Voice First Roundtable, co-created and co-hosted the Voice of Healthcare, and hosts Artificial Intelligence.

  1. Voicing Startups
    Host: Collin Borns

Who they are: [This review was based on Voicing Business. Colin now focuses on Voicing Startups. The new podcast name and link has been updated. ] Tips, discussions, tech, and more with a business twist to understand voice tech’s real impact on business. Join Collin Borns as he shares potential business applications to think about. Daily updates will cover all things voice, however, the main focus of this briefing is to give you little takeaways to think of how the tech can apply to your business or spark an entrepreneurial endeavor in voice!

Voicing Business is the Twitter of podcasts. Short two-minute daily updates introduce a topic and invite further discussion and engagement. The daily podcast focuses on the business aspect of voice AI, including monetization, market trends, impact on brands, industry updates, and business opportunities. If you’re looking for a quick update on what’s happening in Voice AI and where the entrepreneurs are headed in the industry, tune in to this daily snippet.

  1. Voice Tech Podcast
    Host: Carl Robinson

Who they are: Interviews with voice technology professionals to boost your knowledge and technical skills. Learn about voice interfaces, voice assistants, data science, machine learning and much more.

Focused on a single topic, each Voice Tech Podcast episode takes deep dives into specific aspects of Voice AI with expert guests. The podcast has an international flavor and hosts guests from around the world as they discuss the challenges and innovations surfacing in the voice AI industry. Carl engages in deep conversations that go far below the surface of the topic and looks at issues from a variety of angles, including how the technology works, and also what it does and the larger implications.

    Host: Kane Simms and Dustin Coates

Who they are: The practical voice podcast. Going into detail on three core areas of voice: strategy, design and technology. The place where voice industry practitioners, start-up founders and thought-leaders share the juicy details of how they do what they do, so that you can do what you do, better.

If you are looking for a “how to” podcast, VUX World is made to order. The hosts, Kane Simms and Dustin Coates lead technical discussions with industry thought leaders and practitioners around the methods and strategies they employ to design and develop the latest in voice user interfaces. This practical guide to VUX provides best practices for implementation and highlights use cases and innovations in voice interfaces and voice UX. Get tips and tricks for designing a better VUX in this hour-long podcast.

    Hosts: Keri RobertsPete Erickson & James Poulter

This interview-format podcast features leaders and entrepreneurs in the voice AI industry. Through conversations with people, this show delivers practical advice and actionable insights to solve specific challenges faced by developers and business leaders seeking to create better voice user experiences. Episodes range from 10-minute conversations to deeper dives lasting an hour or more.

  1. The Smart Speakers Podcast

Who they are: This twice-monthly broadcast talks about the most recent trends, news, and research on emerging voice AI technology and all things voice. Targeted to marketers, business leaders, and anyone interested in staying up-to-date with the latest advances and best practices in the voice-first community.

This podcast series focuses on case studies and how voice AI is being used in a variety of industries, including automotive, retail, hospitality and health, and other vertical markets.

The number of podcasts, much like players in the Voice AI space, is growing everyday. This is by no means an exhaustive list. As we looked around the space, we saw a few up and comers that may be making their mark very soon as they build out their content. This year we reviewed eight established podcasts, next year we’re sure there will be many more.
